New Delhi, Jan 11 - A two-day National HR Summit 2008, organized by the Asia-Pacific
Institute of Management (AIM), which largely discussed the important issues being
faced by the contemporary business world, concluded here today.

More than 100 experts in the Human Resource field which include HR Managers,
Professionals, Corporate Practitioners, Research Scholars, Academicians and
Management Graduates, participated in the mega event to discuss matters relating to
contemporary practices, challenges and opportunities for the sector through debates
and presentation of papers.

Inaugurating the Summit, Col. S.P. Wahi (Retd.) said that ''In the existing
environment, for greater competitive advantages as also to overcome hurdles of
severe competition, planned attempts could be made to improve and develop the
quality of human resource and set up strong linkage between strategic business needs
and strategic human resource management practices.''

In his keynote address, Dr. C.S. Venkata Ratnam said ''The contemporary business
world, especially since the last quarter of twentieth century, has witnessed a
dramatic change and shift in respect of form and size of enterprises, management
strategy and policy, organizational structure, decision making process, information
system, employer employee relations, work style and work place conditions.''

Dr. S.R. Mohnot delivered the valedictory at the conclusion of the Summit.

The Summit mainly focused on HR Trends towards Development and Growth, Linking HR
Investment to Business Results, HR Challenges in Indian and Global Context,
Utilizing the HR through Sustainable Development.

Asia-Pacific Institute of Management [AIM] was established under the aegis of All
